“Slipway” Waterfront Restaurant is a Schaafsma Family run restaurant in Saldanha Bay.

 “Slipway”  Restaurant nestled in a cosy corner of the Lagune in the Saldanha Bay harbour has a unique atmosphere.
Enjoy the workings of the deepest natural harbour in the Southern Hemisphere.
The sounds of the Malgas and Gannets as they fly in flocks overhead.
Enjoy freshly farmed mussels and oysters from the bay.
Partake in the relaxing mood of watching yachts float and bob around on their
moorings or watch them in full sail as they head out into the bay.

Our Summer opening hours are Monday + Tuesday 09h00 – 17h00
Wednesday – Sunday 09h00-10h00 Kitchen closes.
Breakfasts are served daily from 09h00 – 11hh00

“Slipway” Waterfront Restaurant  was officially opened in 1992.
Diane and Robert  were raised in Sea Point Cape Town and have 3 children.
After marriage they moved up to the West Coast and raised
there 3 childrenin this West Coast Biosphere of  natural beauty.
After circumnavigating Africa for 3 years they returned to Saldanha and built the restaurant.

29/11/2011 We celebrated our 21^st Birthday. This day is also celebrated  with Robert Schaafsmas’ birthday.
The restaurant has undergone many changes over the years and will continue to grow with the times.

The children are all grown up now.
Our eldest Mandi is currently in Mexico where her husband is working and has 2 children.
 Nikki is living in Wilderness with her husband and 2 children.
Mark is single and living in Saldanha .
Nikki is running her own  business in Wilderness which is a very popular and
specialized wine boutique “The Oak Barrel” and is in Timberlake between Wilderness and Sedgfield.
She also has a craft shop called "Made Local" wherein she is very creative and specializes in handmade gifts for children and adults.
